I decided to revisit one of my older works from 2018, the DMR rifle (M395B Designated Marksman rifle) from Halo 5 Guardians (2015). I collated references and reworked the 2018 model, by re-doing the entirety of the weapon from the beginning. Due to the amount of individual parts of the rifle that needed to be modelled and textured, I split the prop into three texture sets to best suit the texturing process when applying materials and decals. This prop provided the perfect opportunity to enhance my skills in both hard surface modelling and texturing. Modelled in Maya, textured in Substance painter, rendered in Marmoset toolbag and final compositions were done in Photoshop. Thanks for viewing.
